These photos are part of an ongoing project centered around North Philadelphia, a vibrant yet often overlooked section of the city. Historically, North Philly has been known for its rich working-class roots, with a diverse mix of immigrant communities and a long-standing reputation as the heart of Philadelphia's manufacturing industry. Over time, however, the area has experienced significant changes—both economically and socially—creating a complex landscape where tradition and transformation intersect.
In this body of work, my focus is to document the quieter, everyday moments that often go unnoticed—the fleeting interactions, the subtle details, and the unspoken connections that make up the fabric of life in North Philly. I'm drawn to the idea that beauty can be found in the most unexpected places: from the worn storefronts to the intimate exchanges between neighbors, from the graffiti-covered walls to the local corners where people gather. Through these images, I aim to highlight the resilience and spirit of the people who call this area home, as well as the under-appreciated aesthetics that emerge from the intersection of history, culture, and urban life.
Each photograph serves as an exploration of the overlooked, a search for meaning and beauty in the ordinary. It’s a quiet celebration of life as it is lived, capturing the raw, authentic moments that shape the identity of this part of Philadelphia. This work is not just about the area’s past but also its present—an evolving community that holds onto its roots while navigating the pressures of modern change.

I would print these photographs using a fine art matte paper, like an Epson Hot Press Bright. The image sizes would 13"x19" and 16"x20".
