In Conversations with the Sun, I use diptychs combining thermal and digital or analog photography to visualize heat and light, revealing unseen connections between humans, the land, the sun, and the natural systems that sustain us. In this project I use a high-resolution thermal camera, which registers heat rather than light. This feels poignant as our world increases in temperature. By seeing heat traces, the landscape becomes mysterious, uncanny, and lies just beyond recognizability, coaxing a different way of seeing.
