Dust and steel reimagines the views seen through reclaimed window frames. I use ambrotypes to evoke a sense of the past. The collection has 2 themes: weathered wooden frames and industrial metal frames.
We live in a throw away culture. When I find an old window I wonder where it came from, who looked through it, and how the world was at that time. I'm inspired by the idea of exploring those scenes.
Each window has a personality; a unique thumbprint of weathering, rust and pitting. Wet plate collodion creates a beautiful mood with imperfections that give the viewer an experience of looking back in time.

My project are mixed media compositions that use a combination of reclaimed window frames and ambryotypes to create landscapes that transport you back in time.
