The photographs in this series were shot in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, New York, an immigrant community comprised of Russian-speaking people who arrived in the early-mid 20th century from Ukraine and Russia, and more recently post-Soviet era migrants from Georgia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Mostly candid street photographs, they capture the grace and pride of the community.
