Through his photographic practice, Alan Nguyen examines the reciprocal relationship between people and place. He draws on how environments inform identity, and how individuals, in turn, inscribe themselves onto the spaces they inhabit. His work considers identity not as fixed, but as something continuously constructed across individual, collective, and cultural dimensions. His photo works function as acts of attention, honoring the overlooked and questioning how even the most unassuming interactions with space contribute to larger cultural narratives.
